Energy Research Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences (SDERI) was founded in Oct 1978, which is a comprehensive scientific research institution leading by the research and development of new energy and conventional energy. There are four research departments—Biomass Gasification Technology for Power Generation, Advanced Clean Fuel Technology, Mechatronics and Industrial Control Technology, Photoelectric Conversion Technology of Solar Energy—which are affiliated with it. At the same time, depending on its own scientific and research advantages, more self-directed industries are developed. Such new high-tech enterprises as Shandong Sangle Solar Energy Co.,Ltd., Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co.,Ltd. ,Shandong Ket Agriculture and Technology Development Co.,Ltd. are established.

In the passed thirty years, SDERI focused on the research and development of renewable energy and energy conservation technology. Technology and advantages their own characteristics were developed in the areas of biomass energy, solar energy, energy conservation and environmental protection and so on. Large quantities of scientific research achievements are applied to economic construction.

Clasping with the domestic and foreign colleagues, expending innovation, as  pilots of green energy in China, the staffs of  SDERI take “developing  green energy and promoting circular economy ” as their own duty and will work together to create a better tomorrow of energy science and technology.
